The Gate Staff take on Charity Cycle Challenge
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
The team members had varying levels of fitness and experience, including a few who hadn’t been on a bicycle in a good number of years! By sticking together and supporting each other however the whole team completed the picturesque but gruelling 64 miles from Seahouses down the coast to the finish line at Tynemouth Priory.
Team organiser Amanda Betteridge said: “Everyone was determined to finish and raise as much as possible for the Chris Lucas Trust which supports research into rhabdomyosarcoma, one of the leading causes of cancer in children. Sponsorship of our ride by The Gate and Navitas, our Facilities Management Company meant that our team’s costs were covered and all the money our team members raised could go directly to the charity.”
