The Gate, Newcastle’s Premier Leisure Centre recently held a competition titled ‘Passion for Painting’ for all Newcastle school children aged 6-11. As the name suggests, the competition required pupils to submit a picture/painting of how their family celebrates Christmas.

Read International, a charity which helps supply books to Tanzanian schools, held a collection in The Gate on Saturday 8th November, raising over £500 to benefit children in Tanzania. Their next collection on the 6th December raised £326.58.

Ten staff from The Gate leisure and entertainment centre in Newcastle did their bit for charity this weekend, raising over £600 as they completed the Great North Bike Ride in support of the Chris Lucas Trust.
