Newcastle Airport offers fast access to the city by car, Metro and bus:

Car

From the airport follow signs to the A696 (signposted Newcastle), then the A167 (signposted Newcastle City Centre). Turn onto the A189 (City West) following it around until it becomes Barrack Road and you see St James’ Park on your left. At the lights turn left onto Gallowgate briefly, then turn right through the Chinese Arch onto St. Andrews, and first right again onto Stowell Street. Underground parking for The Gate is on your left.

Metro

The Metro runs from the airport to St James, Monument and Haymarket, which are all close to The Gate.

Bus

Bus numbers 76, 76A, 77, 77A, 78, 78E, and 79 run from the Airport to Eldon Square Bus Concourse in the city centre about every 20 minutes during the day Monday-Saturday and every 80 minutes on Sundays. For more information, contact Traveline (tel: 0870 608 2608).
